Homework - Read AR/RtR
Practice multiplication facts. Our goal was to master through 3's and to work on 4's before Christmas. Many have passed and are well beyond 3's. Good work everyone!! Classroom Newsy Things: Family gifts were wrapped today and have been sent home. Tomorrow we will watch The Grinch with all third grades at 8:30. There will be an assembly tomorrow afternoon where the teachers and EA's will be performing a short play and songs. Practice Multiplication facts -The goal is to be proficient with X2, X3, and almost X4s before Christmas. Most are there already!! Hooray for Team Holbrook!!

Read AR RtR Study for Spelling Test Classroom Newsy Things: We attended the dress rehearsal for the 4th - 6th grade concert this morning. Since the rehearsal was during our reteach/recess time we took a much needed afternoon recess break. In math we continued to work on large numbers. Home Link 5.3
Read AR /RtR Study for spelling test - Test Friday (list is in folders) Centerfield Ballhawk - Test tomorrow Classroom Newsy Things: Our Christmas party will be on Tuesday, December 23rd at 11:30. The party planners have planned a great party!! We will not exchange gifts as a class but will show a lot of caring and sharing with our games and activities. Home Link 5.2
Handwriting - up to the letter L. I made copies of the story "Centerfield Ballhawk" so that we could highlight figurative language and key details. We are also focusing on understanding the characters based on what they do and say. Homework for tonight or tomorrow night would be to reread the story together. The test will be on Thursday. Classroom Newsy Things: We worked on picture graphs to understand data in math. Tables were set up in the atrium for all classes to make cards for Mother of Mercy Nursing home residents and a girl named Addie who is terminally ill and only wants cards for Christmas. Practice X facts Read AR/RtR Classroom Newsy Things: We started our family Christmas gift today. It would be helpful if everyone had a list of brothers and sisters printed in their planners for this project. (for correct spelling of names) We will be wrapping the gifts on Friday. If you have some extra wrapping paper to send our way, it would be most appreciated!! Homework - FInish the Christmas tree story. (some stories are finished and on the bulletin board) Please proof as final copies will be written on Monday.
Practice multiplication and division triangles. Read AR/RtR Classroom Newsy Things: We read the stories, The Fir Tree and The Littlest Christmas Tree, to help generate ideas for the writing project that we are doing. PACER puppets presented skits about "Kids Against Bullying." Unit 4 math tests were sent home today. No Homework tonight. See you soon for the concert!!
