9:00-11:00 Biking the trail Please plan on dropping your child's bike off at the South side of the building close to our room and picking it up anytime after 11:00 or at the end of the day in the same area. 12:35- Lunch 1:45-2:45 - Recess We had a wonderful day launching rockets, walking to the DQ, and then playing at Green Park by Sunny-side Circle. Homework and Classroom Newsy Things:
*Handwriting books need to be completed up to the capital z at least by Friday. The additional work in the book should be done but it's crunch time now and I want to make sure that everyone has at least practiced all of the letters in cursive before sending them on the 4th grade. They will continue practicing cursive in 4th grade too. *the last day for AR tests to be calculated into the reading grade will be Friday, May 24th. I have to have grades to the office by noon on Tuesday, the 28th. **ROCKET LAUNCH - Because of the forecast with rain and thunderstorms predicted, the rocket launch has been moved to Tuesday, May 28th from 9:15-10:15. You may want to consider sending a camera to school with your child on that day!! If you would like to join us, check into the office and then come down to our room around 9:00. It would be great to see you!! *We are still planning on walking to the DQ and the Park on the 28th and Biking/Walking the trail on the 29th. I will keep you posted on activities as things come up. Please email if you have any questions. On Friday, May 24th, grade 3 will be launching rockets! If you are able, we would love to have you join us! We will meet outside on the North side of the building (playground side) at 12:15 p.m - 2:00 p.m. In the case of inclement weather we will plan our launch for Tuesday, May 28th from 9:15 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher.
Ms. Spohn Ms. Habben Ms. Holbrook Ms. DeGeest BIKING or WALKING THE TRAIL - Wednesday May 29th if it rains it will be Thursday the 30th We will leave school at 8:45 and bike or walk the trail towards Avon. We'll turn around after 25 minutes and head back to school for a special Dilly Bar treat. If your child will be biking, please drop the bike off at the South end of the building by our third grade classroom. Lets hope for a sunny beautiful day!! Homework
Read AR 20 Minutes Study for the science test that will be given this Friday morning. Classroom Newsy Things: Tomorrow we will take a reading test from 9:00-10:00. A good nights sleep and eating a good breakfast would be helpful. We went to he Albany Public Library this morning and we are very excited about the summer reading program. Everyone has a packet of information in their backpacks today. The ventriloquist at the BEAT was amazing!! Six more chicks hatched today!! *Friday-Texas Roadhouse will be here to celebrate with those who made it into the 100 nights of reading club! Homework

Read AR Study for the science test that will be given on Friday. The study guides are in binders. No spelling or vocabulary this week. Classroom Newsy Things: We started building our rockets today. Work on reciting poem- Tomorrow morning everyone will recite their poem to the class. Work in Handwriting Book- I introduced the letter Q today. Read AR - Texas Roadhouse will be with us on May 17th to celebrate with those students who have read 100 nights or more. Classroom Newsy Things: *Remember to have your child bring a canvas grocery bag or something like to school tomorrow if you can, so that Mother's Day gifts get home safely. May Schedule: May 10th - Speak -Up Recitation of Poem to the class May 15th - Walk to the Albany Public Library - Summer Reading Program and check out Ventriloquist at the BEAT - Afternoon Chicks should start hatchingMay 17th - Buggy For Books 100 nights of reading celebration with Texas Roadhouse May 20th - Albany Husky Positive Behavior School Wide Behavioral Program Celebration - There will be fun stations planned and your child will be able to sign up for two thirty minute activities. For example, my station will be Freeze Tag and Freezies and some other stations will be board games, Pictionary, gym activities, etc... . May 24th - Third Grade Rocket Launch 12:30 on the North side of the playground BB field - Please join us if you can. May 28th - Walk to the DQ and then to Green Park which is Southwest of the school (You are welcome to walk with us. We will be leaving school at 12:10. May 29th - Biking the Wobegon Trail 9:00-11:00 (helmets are required) - (Lunch times will be adjusted) 1:45-2:45 Recess May 28th and 29th -Book Exchange We will again be having a book exchange for students. Students will come in Tuesday. May 28 for their first book and Wednesday, May 29 for all remaining books. May 30th - Movie at the BEAT 9:30-11:30 (Lunch times will be adjusted) Recess 1:00-2:00 If it rains on Wednesday, we'll switch the schedules for Wednesday and Thursday so we can hopefully have our outdoor activities on Thursday. If we have the movie on Wednesday, all students will go at 9:30. There is another event in the BEAT that afternoon. May 31st- 1/2 day last day of Third Grade - 8:30-9:00 Recess -Program at the BEAT 9:30 -Parents are welcome to attend. (Lunch times will be adjusted starting at 10:30) Report Cards will be handed out and dismissal will be at 12:10 |
