Read AR 20 Minutes Study for Spelling and Vocabulary Test The measurement study guide is in binders. They added 48 inches (In) equals 4 feet (ft) Classroom Newsy Things: We are having a "Show and Tell" Speak Up next week. (See note in binders) Everyone signed up for a day to present their show and tell item and they wrote their scheduled day and time on the note. We worked on perimeter and making change in math today. In social studies we are working on a readers theater about the constitution. Tomorrow we read one about George Washington. Homework
If you want to get a head start on studying for the math test, you could make flash cards for the following: 12 Inches (in) = 1 foot (ft) 24 inches (in) = 2 feet (ft) 48 inches (in) = 4 feet (ft) 3 feet (ft) = 1 yard (yd) 6 feet (ft) = 2 yards (yd) 12 feet (ft) = 4 yards (yd) Measuring to the nearest 1/2 inch will be on the test as well. It has been a difficult concept to teach. For example, the answer for a line measuring closer to 3 inches instead of 2 1/2 inches is 3 inches. Most students will answer the question as 2 1/2. I will continue to demonstrate this to the class and have them work on problems with measuring to the nearest 1/2 inch. Any help that you could give your child at home would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!! I plan on giving the test next Tuesday. Read AR 20 Minutes Study spelling and vocab Practice superspeed math as much as you can each week. Everyone has subtraction facts in their binders. It would be best to continue with addition until your child is mostly secure with the facts. Then move on to subtraction. Classroom Newsy Things: We experimented with probability today by dropping pattern blocks 50 times to see how many times it would land on an edge. We will finish this up tomorrow. Homework
