Homework Read AR 20 Minutes Study spelling and vocabulary words - Spelling City Study math facts (Those who passed multiples of 9 are working on the 5 minute X test. The test is proving to be difficult for most students. I told them "No" you cannot pause the timer while you figure out your answer. LOL, I wish I had a pause button sometimes!! Read AR 20 Minutes Practice spelling and vocabulary words Practice facts Classroom Newsy Things: We read a story called Cocoa Ice about a girl from Santo Domingo and a girl from Maine. The story takes place in the past and talks about trading cocoa and conch shells from Santo Domingo and ice and balsam bags from Maine. As luck would have it, I was able to collect little conch shells from Florida to give to everyone. Everyone had a chance to taste cocoa too. They liked the shells much better! The Red Cross came to all third grade rooms to talk about safety in an emergency. Each student was presented with a pillowcase that they decorated with fabric markers. Directions of what to place inside the pillowcase and how to set the colors are included. Snow makeup days - April 22nd and March 25th Homework

School will be dismissed early today. We will start loading buses around 12:05-12:10 Conferences that were scheduled for tonight will be moved to Thursday, February 28th. Study for spelling and vocab. Practice multiplication facts as well as addition and subtraction Mobymax - under the math dropdown above, would be a good site to visit today for 1/2 hour. Homework Read AR Since it's I love to read month, the entire school is playing a game of connect 4. A big game board is on the wall by the office. If our class reads 200,000 words, we get a checker to place on the board. Lets read extra so we can get those checkers!! Practice vocabulary and spelling words for the test on Friday. Study multiplication facts and review addition and subtraction facts. Classroom Newsy Things: The science test and worksheet packet were sent home today. We went through both and finished up with writing poems about our favorite season. As I corrected the tests, I did not always put a number above the total for individual items (they held me accountable for that!) but the total number wrong is at the bottom of each page and the front has the total number correct plus the percentage. **Shout out to Lisa Smith for putting together the first part of our abacus project!!
