Read AR 20 Minutes Study spelling and vocabulary Study X facts Classroom Newsy Things: We started our planet research project today. Everyone was able to draw a planet out of a "hat" and start their research either with a partner or independently. It's sparking a lot of excitement and many students would like to research at home as well. Printing off a picture of your child's planet would be fine too. Your call. I have a few pictures at school but we are running low on colored ink for the printer so it is doubtful that I will get a good color image.:( **Friday half day Lunch -10:15 Dismissal- 12:10 Homework

Read AR Finish the Christmas Roll-A Story if you did not already hand it in to me. Classroom Newsy Things: Happy 2020!! We thought about our new years resolutions and came up with some easy things to do in the classroom. Some ideas were to be more mindful during lessons, to listen more and talk less, practice the correct pencil grip, and to become better at math facts. We made place value books today to help us learn about decimals. The booklet goes into the thousandths place but we work mostly on tenths and hundredths. Relating tenths to dimes and hundredths to pennies seems help. For the thousandths place I will use a dropper and drop ten drops of water on a penny to show that ten thousandths equals one hundredth. We also worked on how to add quotation marks and colons when writing. |
